The Reverend Dr. Raymond L. Chandler

Born in Culver City, California, to the late Deacon Lee and Mrs. Maedel Chandler, Pastor Raymond L. Chandler stands as the second of four children blessed to their union. From an early age, his life bore the unmistakable mark of divine purpose. At only twelve years old, he ascended the pulpit of the Independent Cathedral Baptist Church of Los Angeles, delivering his first sermon under the tutelage and spiritual mentorship of the late Reverend Dr. Donald Gardner.

Answering the sacred call to shepherd God’s people, Pastor Chandler began his pastoral ministry in 2003. In 2012, through vision and faith, he founded Greater Love Christian Fellowship—“A Place Where God Resides and Love Abides.” His ministry continues to inspire, teach, and transform lives through the power of God’s Word and the steadfast love of Christ.

Pastor Chandler’s academic and theological journey reflects both intellectual rigor and spiritual depth. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology from California State University, Los Angeles; Master’s Degrees in Education and Christian Leadership; a Postgraduate Certification in Urban and Community Development from the University of Southern California; a Doctor of Divinity in Strategic Leadership from Trinity International University; and a Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Exposition from Anderson Theological Seminary. In addition, he is a Certified Teacher for the Sunday School Publishing Board of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc.

With nearly three decades of faithful service in the public sector, Pastor Chandler has labored diligently as an educator, social worker, and now as a Social Services Program Manager, championing the well-being of children, families, and communities. His leadership extends far beyond the classroom and office. He served with distinction as Moderator of the Faith District Association for twelve years and presently serves as First Vice President of the Western Baptist State Convention Congress of Christian Education, Technology Director, and President of the Young Adult Convention.

For over twenty-four years, Pastor Chandler has shared life and ministry with his devoted wife, Lady Lesley Chandler, and together they are the proud parents of Jalen and Lauren Chandler, who continue the legacy of faith and service.

Currently, Pastor Chandler serves as the Senior Pastor of Rogers Memorial Baptist Church (Knoxville, TN), Overseer of Greater Love Christian Fellowship (Los Angeles,CA), guiding God’s people with wisdom, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to truth. His life’s motto encapsulates both his faith and philosophy: “Stay in Faith, and Let God Work Out the Details.”
